Frequently Asked Questions

Not sure how the process works.  Not sure what is involved when you decide to commit.  Just exploring what it means to serve.  If any of these statements describe you, this section is for you.  The following are frequently asked questions asked by people in the church who explored the volunteer process and were in the seeking part of the process.  Hopefully, this section will be of assistance to you and will start to answer your questions. If you have additional questions, please take some time to talk to a ministry consultant or a ministry leader.  We are volunteers who believe our service is to help you find your place to use your unique gifts, talents, and abilities in service to the Lord.

Where do I fit?  Our ministry consultants are volunteers, just like you.  They are trained and equipped to help you through the discovery process and in determining a potential area of ministry that might fit you.  They are willing to take the time to help you discover your own unique gifts and talents and to find a ministry opportunity that fits you.  You will find them easy to talk to and very helpful.  If nothing else, stop by and just say "Hi," and thank them for their service.

Am I stuck for life?  Not at all.  Our goal is to help you grow in your walk with Christ.  We will do everything possible to help you grow in your ministry experiences and walk alongside you during every step of the process.  If situations develop where you must leave your position, no one will judge you or think any less of you.  We are trying to help you develop your ministry, not add another job to your life.

Can I observe before I decide?  Many people find it helpful to observe a ministry in action before they make a commitment.  If that might be helpful for you, your ministry consultant will be happy to connect you with a ministry leader who can arrange an observation for you.  You will be given an opportunity to observe one or many ministries in action before you make your decision.  We can even set up a trial for you to see if the ministry you are considering is a good fit for your individual gifts, talents and abilities.

What if it isn't a good fit for me?  Sometimes people are drawn to a ministry and, when they get involved, they find out it is not right for them.  If that happens, your ministry leader and ministry consultant will work with you to help you discover a ministry opportunity that better fits your interests, time and abilities.  Keep the faith, there is a place for you and a ministry you are equipped for.  We will do everything possible to find the right fit for you.  Don't feel bad, it does happen.  Just know we are here to help you in the process, and with God's help we can find the right fit for you.

Get Involved; Still Not Convinced, What Now?  We are all designed by God for service to God.  That form of service can take many forms, but one form it does not take is doing nothing.  Maybe something in the community is right for you, or maybe something in your neighborhood.  It could be right here in the church.  Somewhere there is something for you.  Our ministry consultants can assist you in your search.  They can help you discover what is a good fit for you.  Just because you take the time to talk to one of our ministry consultants does not mean you are committed to work in the church.  They are here to help you in your journey, not just fit you into a job at church.  Take some time and explore this resource.  You won't be disappointed.
