I'm At Service Central, Now What?

Okay, you made the decision to stop by Service Central.  What happens now?

You will meet a ministry consultant, who is a volunteer, who is there to help you and make the process rewarding and meaningful for you.  These folks have been trained and believe their ministry is to help people just like you connect to ministry opportunities in the church body.

During the initial meeting, if you are still interested and haven't been scared away, they will ask to fill out a Volunteer Interest Form.  It's not like an IRS form, it is simply a tool to help you in your discovery process.

Still haven't run away?  Good, then your ministry consultant will explain how the process works and answer any questions you might have.

Your ministry consultant will then set up a time to get together with you to take some time to get to know you and learn what God has put on your heart for service.  You will be asked to fill out a form called Discovering Individual Abilities, Skills, and Passions.  You might be surprised to learn how God can use your unique sets of gifts, talents, and abilities.

During the interview, you and your consultant will explore possibilities.  This meeting might result in a placement or it might result in an observation.  If you decide you might be interested in a particular ministry but would like to see it in action first, that can be arranged.  Your consultant will arrange meetings, set up observations, set up further meeting times and walk along side of you during the whole process.

Just a special note, you are not committed to service just because you stopped by Service Central.  We are there to help you discover the call to service God has placed on your heart, not fill jobs.

Take a risk.  Stop by and talk to a consultant.  If nothing else, just thank them for their service.  We are all part of the body.  As Bob says, "We believe that God has placed every gift, talent, and ability within the church, for His purposes."  Service Central exists to help you find where you fit in and what part of His work you are designed for.
