This section of the volunteer pages contains some resources you may find useful in your ministry. For example, if you lead a small group or a Bible study, you might access some of the activity ideas to see if there might be something that your group would find fun and useful. The resources are displayed in PDF format. Feel free to share ideas and modify them in any way to make them personal for your group. If you have any ideas you would like to share, please email them to me and I will include them in the resources section of the web pages.
Each section will display a heading (Small Group Leaders) and a short abstract of the activity. Then the link is underlined in blue text. Clicking on the link will take you to the PDF of the activity. Have fun and let me know what is useful and what can be improved.
Small Group Leaders
This is a fun activity for your small group that can provide a blessing to others. The kits are low cost and can provide some fun craft time for your group as you grow closer together in a crafts activity. These completed kits can be used as a thank you for volunteers, visitors, or for anything else your group can come up with. Have fun with the activity and spend some time getting to know each other as you work on this simple service project.

Bible Study Leaders
Here is an activity you might be able to use in your small group. Have each person pick up their Bible. Try holding it with one finger – then try two fingers – How secure can you hold it? Keep going until you have a firm grip on your Bible with all five digits of the hand. Notice that it isn’t until you grab your Bible with your whole hand that you get a firm grip.
The Hand Illustration is an easy to remember tool for showing someone how to get a working grasp on the Scriptures. Each finger represents one way to take in the Word of God. A balanced intake of the Bible comes through hearing, reading, studying, memorizing, and meditation. As we follow these activities, they become more personal and specific in helping us grow in becoming more like Christ.

This activity creates a tool your group members can use to not only gain information from their Bible study, but to gain information that leads to changed lives. This will allow group members to build a collection of effective methods for developing practical application of the Bible. This activity was developed by Terry Hall.

People usually respond strongly to two of these motivations. After the activity, have each group member choose the one or two options that best fit them as they have been designed by God. For further study outside the group, think about having members do an in-depth study about the ones they did not choose. Low motivation can often be a result of a lack of familiarity. We tend to focus on what we know. It is also possible to start your outside study with the one or two areas you choose. Go more in depth to study those areas which are most strongly on your heart. As part of the activity, have each person in the group discuss and share why they chose a particular motivation.
